We all know about the glorious beaches, the fiestas and the night life of Javea Spain. But what about the kids? A nice holiday for the entire family includes interesting activities for the kids as well and luckily Javea has plenty to offer!
Apart from the activities directly related to the family friendly beaches of Javea, a whole range of fun activities are available in the area such as mini golf by Bar For You, boat and paddle around things for rent at the canal by the Arenal Beach, pay-and-play tennis at L´Ancora just behind the Arenal, free playgrounds, a small tivoli and several more.
However you might also want to check out some of the bigger events and more organized activities for kids in Javea over the summer. Our focus here are on social activities for kids that will enable them to make new friends and have fun at the same time. Here are some of the excellent offers in Jávea:
Javea Football Summer Camp by Rob Jones
Summer football camp in Jávea run by Rob Jones for kids aged 5 to 13 – girls and boys together. He has the use of proper facilities, is a certified coach etc but more importantly he comes with absolutely outstanding recommendations from every single parent I have spoken to and puts in a lot of effort to do social events/integration for the kids aside from the fun on the pitch. If your kid is at all interested in football, this is a great way of making new friends during their holiday in Jávea.
Apart from the Summer Camps Rob Jones coaches youth football teams in Jávea all year round and has delivered some of his talented players onwards to football academies and the CD Javea Cadetes. However, the true strength isn’t the pure ambitious coaching, as one parent put it: “It is easy enough to make the best players in the team have a good time, but its a very special skill to make the clumsiest kid without a shed of talent have such a fantastic time they can´t wait to go back every day. And hey he might even learn to play football too one day but at least he has a super time with his new friends!”
From his own announcement of this years football camp: “I will be running a summer football camp for boys and girls aged between 5 and 13. It will be running from 16th July till 27th July and also from 20th August till 31st August. I will be running it from the football pitch in Javea Port. We will start at 9:30 till 12:30. It will be on 4days a week but you dont have to come to every session.
The session prices are 7euros 50 a day but book before the end of June receive discount. I had a great response at easter so book now to aviod disappointment. If you would like more imformation message me or call me on 662 958 607.”
As you can see the Javea Football Camp for kids is very flexible and you can tailor the participation of your kids to your holiday schedule. But obviously, in terms of football skills and new friendships, more is better.

Arthouse Kids – Painting Classes And Creativity
The Arthouse in Gata De Gorgos, a village largely attached to Jávea on the road inland towards Ondarra and the motorway has real art and painting classes for kids through the summer.
Local artist Bethany Jade Heald is running art and craft classes for kids aged between 6 and 12 at the Arthouse Gata during July and August.
You can find and contact the Arthouse Gata here if your kids fancies leaving his or her holiday in Jávea as a Picasso: Calle San Miguel 14, Gata de Gorgos, 03740 Alicante, Spain, Telephone: 965 75 62 86
There are plenty more activities for kids all through the summer – face painting and family fun in the beach bars, volleyball tournaments on the beach, sailing classes for kids and youth in the port to name just a few.
However for bigger events you may also consider heading just a tiny way out of Jávea (What !?! Outside Javea, really???) Yes ok, it sounds strange that anyone would want to – but these are really nice events:
Benitatxell Arts Centre – Summer Activity Club
Benitatxell is a village a short 5km drive inland from Jávea. The arts centre there have all-day activities for kids all through the summer.
The Benitatxell Arts Centre summer activity club lets the kids have some great times socializing in safe environments whilst doing drama projects and films, playing a variety of games and sports, being creative with painting and crafts … and much much more.
The Benitatxell Arts Centre takes special care of your kids by keeping them out the sun and providing for plenty of indoor activities. If you are sitting in the pouring rain in England or freezing under a blanket in Northern Sweden right now plotting activities for your kid during your upcoming summer holiday in Spain, staying out of the direct sun and heat may seem odd – but believe me its a feature, not a bug.
The Spanish sun is fierce, pale Northern skins burn and its easy to get dehydrated by playing outdoors during the hottest hours of the day. Siesta was invented for a reason. Benitatxell Arts Centre has that covered for the kids at the summer camp by keeping them safe and out of the direct sun with plenty of facilities indoors.
Its everything from sports over drama to all sorts of creative activities. A lot of kids from Javea attend the Summer Activity Club in Benitatxell which is said to usually sport a nice mix of nationalities and a very friendly atmosphere for the kids to have fun.
Mar Oceano Summer Camp – Watersports in The Sea For Kids
A little further down the coast in Benissa is a real treat for kids who love to play in the sea. The Mar Oceano Watersports feature daily activities for kids all through the summer with entertainment on the beach, stand up paddle classes and mini Olympic Games along with more traditional activities such as football and volleyball.
From Mar Oceano WaterSports: “Stand Up Paddle Summer Camp for children between 8 and 16 years from monday to friday 09:00 – 13:00 july and august 150€/ month.”
The above should be plentiful to keep most kids entertained during your family vacation in Jávea – but if you crave even more events, activities and places to go with your kids, keep an eye on the daily local press during your stay as many one day events are only announced shortly before they happen.
Obviously if you stray from the participation based and social activities for kids, you have tons of theme park options round Benidorm in particular to go to, Terra Mitico being the most famous one. Watersports parks, zoos and safaris, tivolis and arcades are spread all along the Costa Blanca from Jávea and north to Valencia or South towards Alicante. The majority of these Costa Blanca theme parks are real tourist magnets, perfectly done and great fun, but rather crowded and expensive.
Ideally though, keep it local and give your kids a unique opportunity to make friends with others from all over the world during your summer break in Jávea. They may come home with painting skills, pro footballers or tennis champs too, but first and foremost they will have had the time of their life!
